Join us on April 5th, 2011 as we join hundreds of supporters in The Call to Care campaign. The House of Representatives proposes cutting approximately $640 Million Dollars for cancer research at the National Cancer Institute in House Resolution 1. House Resolution 1 has already been heard in, and passed by the House. It will now move on to the Senate when they resume their sessions following their spring break.
Now is the time to make your voice heard!
On April 5th, 2011 we need YOU to call your Representatives and Senators to let YOUR voice be heard!
A cut of $640 Million Dollars can and will devastate cancer research. We cannot let our elected official balance the budget on the lives of millions of Americans who will be diagnosed with cancer this year alone, or the billions who will be diagnosed in the years to come worldwide. One in three people will be diagnosed with cancer in their life time – the other two will know someone who was. This proposal has the potential to literally impact the lives of everyone. If we cut the research budget now, we will be bringing what little research there is now on rare and orphan cancers to a screeching halt!
The plan is simple – and it only requires a phone call or two!

Question to Ask: Does your boss support these cuts in cancer research?
Be sure to Add: Please let your boss know I called and encourage him/her to support cancer research by opposing cuts at the National Cancer Institute.
If you are unable to call, or uncomfortable with phone interactions – then we encourage to you to write physical letters to the same people mentioned above or visit the link to AACR to sign an online petition.
In addition, you can also write ‘letters to the editor’ at your local newspaper.
All calls into the offices of members of the House and Senate are logged. We need numbers to make a difference when it comes to our future which could be at stake.
